Last Friday I produced a lengthy takedown of a Chavez Ravine video by some outfit called Channel 5. Channel 5’s webseries post was seriously terrible, so I dismantled its fictions to the tune of 7,000 words, and figured that’s that, my final words on the subject.
But the universe just won’t leave me or the subject alone — I subsequently discovered this recent podcast by Tinseltown Ghost Stories.
And wouldn’t you know it, it contains a whole bevy of absolutely different spurious and easily debunked claims!
For example, we’re told “there were no paved streets” (albeit the majority of Chavez Ravine’s streets were paved) and “Chavez Ravine residents banded together to shut down the brick factories” (noooooooope) “the City gave its land to O’Malley for practically nothing” (also noooooooope) and “there were 1,800 families there” (jeez, and I thought it was bad when Channel 5 said there were 1,100 families there, when the sum total of CR families at no point numbered more than 300).
Therefore, I was obligated to do a blog post about this poor podcast, too.

(And yes, the Bunker Hill, Los Angeles blog is supposed to be about Bunker Hill and its architecture. Next Friday, I promise! )
