You know, not everything made its way into Bunker Hill, Los Angeles. (For example, I couldn’t put in all the crime, nor all the Hill’s modern structures, hence Bunker Noir! and Marsak’s Guide.) And one of the elements that failed to make it into the finished product were the Hill’s fire stations. As in, there was a vast HQ on Hill Street near Second, and a nifty local station on Hope Street north of First.
Look at a building permit for any fire station in the last sixty years, and there’s not even an architect listed…modern station-houses are simply cobbled together by a City engineer. In my piece about these fire stations of yore, we’ve got A. C. Martin, Dennis & Farwell, Robert Brown Young, John C. Austin, and other top-flight characters.

Excellent work!
