The limited edition cult classic REBORN!
On moving to Los Angeles thirty-some years ago, the first thing I did was set out looking for Old L.A. — driving around downtown with Hylen’s Los Angeles Before the Freeways in my lap, like some sort of phantom Thomas Guide.
Finding examples of this seminal, indispensable book has always been a tall order (with only 600 copies printed by Dawson’s Books in 1981) so I made it my task to reproduce the thing, a decades-long journey culminating in its re-release this month.
