There is nothing more exciting than a never-before-seen 1880s image of a criminally under-photographed Bunker Hill house brought to light. (Ok, to be accurate, you could have seen this image had you read the Spring 2012 issue of Occidental Magazine.)
Point being: the 300 block of South Bunker Hill Avenue—especially the west side of the street, whose houses had the finest views—was particularly rich with marvelous and important homes. We have early images of many of those homes…but not all.
One of those previously-thought-unphotographed houses was built by Samuel Harold Weller, founding president of Occidental University:
